Norit sold to private equity firm
Doughty Hanson & Co, an independent European private equity firm, is to acquire purification specialist Norit for an undisclosed sum.
Norit, which is headquartered in Zenderen The Netherlands, supplies consumables, components and systems to the water and beverage purification industries and is expected to generate revenues of €369 million in 2007. This acquisition is reportedly in line with Doughty Hanson's strategy to acquire market-leading, mid- to large-sized European businesses.
"Norit is an excellent business, operating in a number of attractive end markets with strong growth and earnings potential," said Mark Corbidge, Principal, Doughty Hanson & Co. " We believe that there is further scope for growing the business and we look forward to working with the experienced management team."
