Severn provides RO for flat screen TV manufacture

Severn Trent Services has provided a reverse osmosis/electrodeionisation (RO/EDI) system for a Sharp Electronics flat screen plasma TV manufacturing plant in California, USA. The system was commissioned in June 2007 and is being used to purify manufacturing process wastewater at a rate of 77 gallons per minute.

The RO/EDI system includes a UATT reverse osmosis membrane filtration system, an EDI module, and multi-media, granular activated carbon and water softener for pre-treatment filtration. The pre-treatment filtration system is used to effectively remove sediment, chlorine, chloramines, calcium and magnesium and reduce turbidity.
