Clarifier for potable and process water

Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies has developed Actiflo Turbo, a new generation of clarifier for potable and process water. The clarifier, which is a development of the company's established Actiflo clarifier, is suitable for a range for applications requiring high quality treated water. It can also be used in the production and recycling of industrial process water.

The system is equipped with a coagulation tank and a flocculation tank which contains a Turbomix to enhance flocculation by installing a draft tube around the mixer impeller. This enables the optimisation of agitation and thus the flocculation process. Besides these two tanks there is a lamellar settling tank with a sludge scraper, lamellas and collection launders. A centrifugal pump draws the sludge and microsand towards a hydrocyclone which separates and recovers the microsand.
