Severn Trent supplies technology in Vietnam
A reverse osmosis (RO) system from Severn Trent Services has been selected by Saigon Water Supply Corporation as the membrane filtration technology for a new brackish water treatment plant, the largest build/operate/transfer RO project in Vietnam. The facility, which will help reduce a water shortage in the region by treating the brackish water into potable water, is being constructed by Dang Doan Nguyen Joint Stock Co. Construction in Can Gio, an outlying coast district of Ho Chi Min City, is expected to be completed by the end of 2007.
The new facility's construction represents the largest build/operate/transfer RO project in Vietnam. The UAT Series BW brackish water reverse osmosis membrane filtration system will be used to reduce levels of total dissolved solids and suspended matter to serve the drinking water needs of Can Gio's population of 66,000 residents. Upon completion, the new facility will be able to supply more than 5,000 m3 of potable water a day.
