Siemens to supply Vietnam offshore processing platform
Siemens Water Technologies has been selected by J. Ray McDermott Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (JRMAP) to provide filtration and produced water treatment systems to the new Su Tu Vang Central Processing Platform to be operated by the Cuu Long Joint Operating Company, offshore Vietnam.
The order amount is US$4.6 million and the filtration system supplied will include fine and coarse filters that will be included in a seawater injection system for the removal of particulates. The produced water treatment system will include a skim vessel, hydrocyclones and dissolved gas flotation equipment to treat produced water to meet discharge limitations. The integrated Central Processing Platform will be installed in about 170 feet of water.
JRMAP will provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning services for the platform. Crude oil production from the Su Tu Vang oilfield is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2008 and will steadily move up to its target of 100,000 barrels per day (bpd).
According to Siemens, the Su Tu Vang will be the biggest oilfield to come on stream in Vietnam over the next three years, and will help to offset declining output in Southeast Asia 's third-largest oil producer. According to Siemens, the filtration and produced water treatment equipment selection was based on the success of similar equipment it had supplied to the Su Tu Den field.
