Porvair delivers new generation of alloy filters
Porvair has announced that customer deliveries have started on one of its key growth projects – a new generation of filters for nickel and cobalt based metal alloys used in high grade metal castings. The technology for these filters was originally developed at the Sandia National Laboratory in the USA and has been in development by Porvair and its partners for five years.
Porvair has a multi-year customer commitment for the new filter and will scale up its production during the rest of 2007. Full capacity, worth US$5 million per annum in revenue, is expected to be reached by the middle of 2008.
“We have been working closely with our technology partners and customers to bring this new filter to market,” said Ben Stocks, CEO of Porvair plc. “We are delighted that sales have now started against a multi-year customer commitment. This work will underpin the improving results we are seeing in our metals filtration division which, along with the UK Filtration Group, has started 2007 well.”
