Clear Edge forms Indian joint venture

Clear Edge has formed Clear Edge India, a joint venture with its former Indian agents Filfab and Tecfab India, located in a new factory in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The 8,500 ft2 factory will undertake the manufacture of the company's normal range of screen and filter products together with resale of heavier process products for markets in the Indian region.

Although relatively small at present, the Indian market is set to grow significantly in the wake of growth in China, Clear Edge says, increasing domestic demand and the progressive easing of regulation, Market sectors such as alumina, iron ore, fertiliser, pharmaceutical and chemical are of especial interest - along with emerging demand for waste water treatment products.

The company's existing business activities were transferred to the new facility in November 2006.
